Is the internet as free as it could be?

So some of you of course are familiar with my Youtube channel but for those who aren't that's where the name came from just FYI lol.

Over the last few days I have been talking with a Android application software company based in Europe similar to other instances where I have had to ask permission to show video footage of an app for one of my reviews.  This is all fine and dandy* but instead of working with and being supported by companies like Youtube; I find I am more often having to defend myself from copyright claims.  I agree and understand that we DO need a policy in place to restrict those who steal, or make money on others creations and hard work but I have doubt in that policy working as good as it sounds in much the same way the current one we are using.

So, what am I saying you ask?  Well hell i'm not 100% sure but almost nobody ever is lol.  I'm just saying that openly advertising and praising a new application, song, video or any work that wants to be seen heard or read to it's audience should be handled better imho.  I have actually received written signed permission from app developers before to review and show their work to more people(for free) to only have Youtube and miscellaneous non-legitimate companies file copyright claims my way!  It becomes frustrating in the end and more trouble than it's even worth.  I hoped my viewers would understand when I gave up on weekly Android app reviews and for the most part I received much understanding as I figured out what was next?

I started to focus on other aspects that I enjoyed or want to get better at.  So far I have decided on preparing foods and music/expressionism.  Of course even posting music I enjoy has it's limitations so I have already had many songs I enjoy and were uploaded and ready to share with my viewers to be muted once again(sad).  I communicate with fellow content creators and viewers about how to make the content better without infringing on copyright?  I mean yes we can pick up a trumpet and learn to play our own music but that's not what some of us want to share and yes we can buy a plane ticket and go to the Hawaiian islands to take a picturesque portrait but somehow that seems unlikely for most of us lol.  I know I know, I may be exaggerating but it's not at all far from the real life problems for internet users; which the last time I checked was just about everybody in this entire world!

Much like seeing segregation, same sex marriage and legalized marijuana I am confident that new laws will be written or updated to reflect the modern times.  We are getting there but it's still just down the road a bit.  (patiently waiting loud mouthed internet guy)

All the glory

So, I enjoy sharing many things that I am interested in within my life with you guys but some days I find myself asking..."what am I bringing to the table?" or "is this something that others will actually enjoy or am I just being silly?".  I think it DOES take a certain type of person to be able to post tid bits about their own life for all of the internet folks to criticize good or bad.  I was very shy when I was younger and sort of still am sometimes in large gatherings, but I believe I have learned a lot and I know others often feel the same way(often even at the same exact point in time).  So yeah, I make videos and post content on this little ol' site for anyone to look at but I am not in it for becoming internet famous (not like I think I even could be)lol.  I like to connect with you guys out there because I know that we all have so many interesting things that we may do, even if we ourselves don't know  it! I enjoy learning from what others have done and smile when I see a fellow content creator make something that you can just tell really makes them "happy".  It's frightening to open ourselves up to the judgement of others but I enjoy sharing and communicating with others too much to stand for any nonsense and besides when you think about your offline lives and how we meet new friends, partners, etc...it all starts with finding commonalities and there's no better second place from real life than online imo.  -Matthew

3 Ingredient Lentil Burgers

I know I said just 3 ingredients and I meant it (sweet potato, oats and lentils) is all you really need, the rest is personal preference.  I found myself eating my leftovers for the next two lunches straight!  This makes a lot of burgers so freeze any extra for the long term, enjoy.

Ingredients:
1 sweet potato
1 cup cooked lentils
1 cup old fashioned oats(not quick oats)
1tsp cayenne pepper
2tsp ground cumin
2tsp garlic powder
2tsp onion powder
2tsp Vegeta(optional)
Salt & Pepper to taste

Directions:
Wash sweet potato stab a few times with a fork to let moisture out, wrap in wet paper towel then cook in microwave about 5 minutes unitl softened.
In a large bowl mush cooked sweet potato with a fork then add the rest of the ingredients.
Form into burger patties and place on non stick baking sheet.
Bake on 350 degrees for 20 mins until crispy on outside.

Makes about 9 small burgers or 6 large burger patties!

Two men are working on the side of the road...

One digs a hole and the other fills it back up.
They do this several times until an old lady, who has been watching them, comes over and asks "What in the world are you two doing?"
One of the workers replies, "We work for the city, the guy that plants the trees is off sick today."

 "Of All The Things"

Of all the things I can't change in my life
I give hope to tomorrow being an opportunity of change
Of all the things I wished I would have said to a friend, brother, loved one
I try to be brave enough to tell the ones that are still here all I want to say
Of all the things I hold dear to me throughout my past
It was always just the little things that made me the happiest
Of all the things I would worry about
Almost none of them ever came true
Of all the things that I thought I needed
I only needed a small few
Of all the things I have loved
I never regretted the time I spent with them or the sacrifices I had made for them
Of all the things I could write a poem about
Well, I thought a lot about things!

Happy Turkey Time!

Hi there readers,
As the great American holidays approach and people prepare to see family and friends once again I will not be posting anything for this week.  Yes it's a downer but come on, you've got turkey day to look forward to lol.  As most of us will be commemorating the harvest festival started by the Pilgrims in 1621 here in North America I will as well be turning another year older this week so I will be how they say "not be available" for the rest of the week.  Catch you all on the flip side...my best holiday wishes sent to you all. =D
